Glass fiber enhanced plastic (FRP) is a composite composite material based on synthetic resin. It has the advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, microwave transmission, electrical insulation, and reasonable performance design according to requirements. It has been widely used in aerospace, petrochemicals, transportation, construction, shipbuilding, machinery, environmental protection, textile and other fields. Glass fiber enhanced plastic (FRP) has good electrical insulation property. Under normal circumstances, the amount of graphite powder is 2.5 ~ 5%, which can reach 30 ~ 50%. So why add graphite powder to glass fiber?

From an economic and technological perspective, it is best to choose inorganic abrasive materials, so the amount of graphite powder in the abrasion -resistant material of the glass fiber reinforcement is relatively large. In short, glass fiber wear -resistant materials, because its matrix is a polymer material, fills solid lubricants and various abrasion -resistant materials inside the network of materials. During the friction process, the overall lubricant gradually moved to the friction surface, forming a smooth and wear -resistant surface. On the other hand, the polymer material has low hardness, and due to the insertion of hard particles, they also avoid and reduce the strain on the surface of friction.

As a glass fiber enhanced plastic, graphite powder also has a good impact on its corrosion resistance. In addition to strong oxidation media, it can also withstand the corrosion of acid, alkali and hydrofluoric acid. Adding enough graphite powder to glass fiber will improve the flame retardant of glass fiber products. In short, graphite powder has a certain market in the glass reinforcement industry.
