Graphite is an important mineral resource in the 21st century, and China ranks first in the world in terms of graphite ore reserves. With the improvement of graphite product processing technology, it has been widely used in fields such as chemical engineering, smelting, casting, new materials, molds, aerospace, etc. We often see many chemical properties of graphite products in the industry, such as graphite crucibles, graphite heaters, graphite molds, etc
(1) High temperature resistance: In smelting, the melting point of graphite products is 3850 ± 50 ℃, and the boiling point is 4250 ℃. Even after being ignited by an ultra-high temperature arc, the weight loss and thermal expansion coefficient are very small. The strength of graphite increases with temperature, and at 2000 ℃, the strength of graphite doubles.
(2) Good conductivity and thermal conductivity: The conductivity of graphite products is 100 times higher than that of ordinary non-metallic minerals. The thermal conductivity exceeds that of metal materials such as steel, iron, and lead. The thermal conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, and even at extremely high temperatures, graphite becomes an insulator.
(3) Good lubrication effect: The lubrication performance of graphite depends on the size of graphite flakes. The larger the flakes, the smaller the friction coefficient, and the better the lubrication performance.
(4) Stable chemical properties: Graphite products have good chemical stability at room temperature, and can withstand acid, alkali, and organic solvent corrosion.
(5) Strong thermal shock resistance: Graphite products can withstand drastic changes in temperature without damage when used at room temperature. When temperature suddenly changes, the volume of graphite does not change much and will not crack.
