Graphite materials are mainly composed of polycrystalline graphite and belong to inorganic non-metallic materials. However, they are called semi metals due to their excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. Graphite has higher thermal and electrical conductivity than certain metals, and also has a much lower coefficient of thermal expansion, high melting point, and chemical stability than metals. This makes it of great value in engineering applications. Graphite has good corrosion resistance and does not react with any organic compounds
Graphite is another high-temperature resistant material that does not melt at high temperatures. It also has good thermal shock resistance and excellent self-lubricating properties
The disadvantage of graphite is its poor seismic performance. It begins to oxidize at 500 ℃ in the atmosphere, and the oxidation rate increases with the increase of temperature
